Maintenance Technician - Kitchener, ON

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Kitchener, ON. This is an exciting and challenging position in a growth-oriented organization. If you are a team player with proven ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment this may be the opportunity for you.

What you will do:

•    Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware

•    Maintain, repair and renovate residences

•    General maintenance and painting

•    Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.

•    On-call rotation required;

•    Snow removal during winter months

•    All other duties as required

What you will bring:

•    3-5 years’ experience in a similar role

•    Ability to work as part of a team, and also under minimal supervision

•    Effective, proven skills and experience 

•    Renovations experience is considered an asset

•    Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience is considered an asset

•    Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
