Position Overview

Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for finance, accuracy, and supporting business operations? Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) is seeking a Finance Administrator to join our growing team in Itasca, IL.

In this role, you'll support the financial and administrative activities that help keep our projects and operations running smoothly. Working closely with project teams and business leaders, you'll assist with reporting, documentation, financial tracking, and day-to-day coordination in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Industrial and Water Engineering Group has the ability and the responsibility to greatly influence the successful outcome of our projects. Our team is multi-faceted, with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Responsibilities

 

As a Finance Administrator, you'll support the team across a variety of financial and administrative activities, including:

 

  • Assist with accounts payable, invoice processing, expense reports, and purchasing card transactions using Concur and other financial systems
  • Maintain accurate financial records, budget tracking, and project cost documentation
  • Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Support project teams with cost tracking, forecasting updates, and financial data organization
  • Coordinate vendor payments, purchase orders, and invoice approvals
  • Assist with monthly reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting-related activities
  • Provide general administrative support, including meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and document management
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams
  • Support office operations and special projects as needed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and enjoys supporting financial and business operations in a collaborative environment. Ideal qualifications include:

 

  • 0-5 years of finance, accounting, administrative, or business support experience (entry-level candidates with strong analytical skills and motivation are encouraged to apply)
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required with relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience with Concur, ERP systems, or other financial software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and organization
  • Comfortable working with financial data, reports, invoices, and budgets
  • Ability to work professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks and support the broader team where needed

Base Compensation: $20/hr - $30/hr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
