Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Field HR Manager to support large-scale construction operations in Homer City, PA. This role serves as the onsite HR lead for the project and is responsible for delivering full-cycle human resources support in a fast-paced construction and industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong employee relations experience, operational HR expertise, and the ability to build trust and credibility with craft professionals, field leadership, and project teams. This position requires a hands-on HR professional who thrives in an onsite environment and can effectively support a dynamic workforce throughout the life of the project.

This position is based in Homer City, PA.

Responsibilities

  • •    Serve as the primary onsite HR partner for project leadership and employees
    •    Manage day-to-day HR operations for the project site
    •    Provide guidance and support related to employee relations, performance management, investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
    •    Support workforce planning, staffing coordination, onboarding, and employee retention initiatives
    •    Partner closely with field leadership to maintain a positive and productive work environment
    •    Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and project-specific requirements
    •    Coordinate with recruiting, payroll, safety, training, and corporate HR teams as needed
    •    Support employee engagement and morale initiatives for project personnel
    •    Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive employee matters
    •    Travel and remain onsite for extended periods as required by project demands

Qualifications

  • •    8+ years of HR experience supporting construction sites, industrial operations, manufacturing facilities, or similar field-based environments
    •    Proven experience managing HR functions in an onsite operational setting
    •    Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills
    •    Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
    •    Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence field leadership and build relationships across all levels of the organization
    •    Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
    •    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
    •    Must be willing to travel and relocate on an as needed basis
