Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Site Inspector – Civil to join our team, supporting our client on a major engineered landfill project based in Al Ain, UAE.
The project includes the construction of non-inert and inert landfill cells, with major works covering earthworks, engineered bunds and landfill base construction, geosynthetic lining, leachate collection, stormwater systems and access roads.
We envisage success in this role to include;
- Conducting site inspections and attending Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the Contractor.
- Inspecting civil works against approved drawings, specifications, project requirements and applicable standards.
- Monitoring earthworks, excavation, grading, engineered bunds, landfill base preparation, drainage and roadworks.
- Inspecting GCL and HDPE geomembrane lining works and associated civil works, where applicable.
- Identifying non-compliant works and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Reviewing relevant shop drawings, method statements and material submissions.
- Maintaining daily inspection records, progress reports and photographic documentation.
- Preparing surveillance reports and supporting the preparation and follow-up of NCRs.
- Monitoring site quality, safety and environmental requirements and reporting concerns as required.
- Coordinating civil works with other disciplines and providing technical input to resolve site issues.
- Supporting quality inspections, documentation and project close-out activities.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant civil inspection/supervision experience.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks or environmental projects.
- Experience in engineered landfill, earthworks, drainage or roadworks is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, QA/QC procedures, IRs and NCRs.
- Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills.
- Candidates currently based in the UAE and available for an in-person interview will be preferred.
