Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the delivery of a prestigious waterfront residential development comprising luxury villas and premium residential communities.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the review and validation of detailed mechanical designs and Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation, supporting Architect of Record (AoR) services, coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, and providing construction supervision to ensure mechanical systems are delivered in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, statutory requirements and project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive consultancy experience delivering luxury residential, villa, waterfront or high-end mixed-use developments, with strong experience in mechanical systems design review, authority approvals, contractor coordination and construction supervision.

 

 

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Reviewing and validate detailed mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and IFC documentation.
  • Ensuring mechanical systems comply with UAE regulations, international standards, client requirements and project specifications.
  • Reviewing mechanical engineering packages including HVAC systems, ventilation, chilled water systems, plumbing interfaces, drainage, water supply systems, and specialist mechanical installations.
  • Coordinating mechanical design reviews with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, ICT, Fire & Life Safety and other disciplines.
  • Support Architect of Record (AoR) responsibilities including design amendments, authority submissions, approvals and contractor design reviews.
  • Reviewing contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and technical submissions.
  • Assessing design compliance, constructability and technical suitability of proposed mechanical solutions.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to monitor mechanical installation works, quality and compliance with approved documentation.
  • Reviewing testing and commissioning procedures and ensure mechanical systems achieve project performance requirements.
  • Identifying technical issues, design conflicts and construction challenges, providing effective engineering solutions.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
  • Monitoring construction progress and ensure mechanical works are delivered in line with approved programmes, quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Supporting project handover activities including O&M documentation review, as-built drawings and Defects Liability Period inspections.
  • Preparing technical reports, inspection reports and engineering recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 15 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

 

  • Proven experience delivering luxury villas, high-end residential communities or waterfront developments.
  • Experience reviewing Detailed Design and Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation.
  • UAE experience is essential 
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, drainage and mechanical building services.
