Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join the project team for the Saadiyat Lagoons Villas and Community Buildings project in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with a strong background in residential developments, villas, community buildings, and similar high-quality architectural projects.
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing architectural works, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and project requirements, while coordinating closely with the consultant, contractor, client, and other project disciplines.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Review and monitor architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Ensure architectural works are executed in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, and applicable UAE regulations.
- Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP, landscape, interior design, and other disciplines.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify design, quality, and construction issues.
- Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and design-related issues.
- Monitor the progress and quality of architectural works and provide technical guidance to the project team.
- Review mock-ups and finishes, particularly for villas and community buildings.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical and design issues.
- Ensure that architectural works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical input during meetings and support the Project Manager/Resident Engineer as required.
- Review as-built drawings and ensure architectural documentation is properly maintained.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UAE building codes, authority requirements, and project standards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 15+ years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant architectural experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design is mandatory.
- Strong experience in villa developments, residential projects, community buildings, and similar mixed-use developments.
- Experience working on large-scale developments/projects in the UAE or GCC is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of architectural construction, finishes, materials, and detailing.
- Experience in consultant/PMC supervision roles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations, standards, and authority requirements.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple architectural activities and resolve technical issues effectively.
Preferred Project Experience:Candidates with experience on luxury villas, residential communities, community facilities/buildings, hospitality, or large-scale master-planned developments will be strongly preferred.
