We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plumbing Apprentice to join our Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas Service team. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to diagnose and fix plumbing issues efficiently is essential. Excellent customer service skills are also crucial, as the role involves interacting with clients to explain necessary repairs and improvements. About the Role:

The Apprentice, Plumbing role is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems under the guidance of experienced professionals. This position aims to develop foundational skills in plumbing techniques, safety protocols, and code compliance to prepare the apprentice for a successful career in the plumbing trade. The apprentice will learn to work with various plumbing tools and materials, interpret blueprints, and troubleshoot common plumbing issues. Through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction, the apprentice will progressively take on more complex tasks and responsibilities. Ultimately, this role is critical in building a skilled workforce capable of delivering high-quality plumbing services that meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and mechanical concepts.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening as required.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework related to plumbing, construction, or mechanical trades.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in plumbing.
  • Basic knowledge of safety standards and building codes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand plumbing layouts and requirements.
  • Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Follow safety guidelines and building codes to ensure all work complies with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in training sessions and complete assigned coursework to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Support the team in troubleshooting plumbing issues and performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.

The required skills such as basic mechanical aptitude and physical stamina are essential for performing daily plumbing tasks safely and effectively. Apprentices use their ability to follow detailed instructions and read blueprints to assist in the accurate installation and repair of plumbing systems. Preferred skills like familiarity with plumbing tools and safety standards enhance the apprentice’s efficiency and adherence to regulations. Communication and teamwork skills are vital for collaborating with experienced plumbers and other tradespeople on job sites.
