Job Description
- Manage the engineering and execution of assigned equipment and package systems, including heat exchangers, silos, stacks, chemical supply systems and other process plant equipment.
- Prepare technical specifications and RFQ documentation, evaluate supplier bids, conduct clarification meetings and support supplier selection.
- Coordinate concept and basic engineering activities, ensuring project requirements, interfaces and plant integration are adequately addressed.
- Lead multidisciplinary interface management with Process, Layout, Civil, Structural, Electrical, I&C, Construction, Commissioning and external suppliers.
- Supervise supplier engineering activities, monitor procurement and documentation progress, and drive the resolution of technical issues.
- Review and approve supplier documentation, ensuring compliance with project, contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FATs), installation and commissioning activities, including the resolution of supplier non-conformities and site-related technical issues.
- Maintain effective stakeholder communication throughout project execution and provide international project support through supplier visits, FATs and site activities (10-20% travel).
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable discipline from a technical college or university (FH/ETH or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in international plant engineering, EPC projects, power generation or the process industry.
- Proven experience in the engineering, procurement and execution of complex mechanical equipment and package systems.
- Experience with industrial heat exchangers; knowledge of stacks, silos, chemical supply systems or similar process equipment is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of industrial plant processes and mechanical systems, with the ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
- Strong coordination, negotiation and communication skills when working with suppliers, Procurement, site teams and other stakeholders.
- Structured, precise and proactive working style, with a high level of ownership and responsibility.
- Proficient in MS Office and fluent in English; knowledge of COMOS, AutoCAD, KKS or German is an advantage.
