In the AI In Silico R&D Department at Evotec, more than 100 scientists from diverse backgrounds in biology, computer science, mathematics, and biomedicine work together to analyze and interpret complex omics datasets. In close collaboration with our laboratory scientists, we develop, operate, and continuously enhance high-throughput, high-precision omics platforms. As part of multidisciplinary drug discovery programs, we collaborate with experts from a wide range of scientific disciplines across a global organization of more than 5,000 employees worldwide. Our work spans omics data management and quality control, method and software development, advanced data analysis, and the biological interpretation of results. Our mission is to generate actionable insights that enable better decisions and accelerate the development of medicines that matter.

To strengthen our Computational Oncology Group, we are looking for a highly motivated


Research Scientist (all genders) - Computational Biology


Full-time and permanent


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support oncology researchers in interdisciplinary project teams by providing expertise in oncology, bioinformatics, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to drug discovery projects through the analysis of diverse omics datasets generated both internally and from public sources.


Your Ideal Qualifications:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Oncology, or a related field, with at least 2 years of postdoctoral or industry experience, preferably in drug discovery.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology, genomics, genetics, and relevant biological pathways in oncology
  • Strong proficiency in bioinformatics methods and tools
  • Experience in drug discovery and the analysis of oncology-related data, including omics datasets, cellular screening data, and oncology databases.
  • Proficiency in R programming is required.
  • Experience working in Linux-based environments is expected.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams within a fast-paced environment.
