What You’ll Do:

Drive automation and digitalization initiatives supporting Process & Product Development activities from proof-of-concept through implementation.


Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and advanced analytics to optimize laboratory operations and experimental workflows.


Drive the standardization of laboratory automation platforms, data structures and connectivity across systems.


Develop scalable solutions enabling seamless integration between laboratory instruments, robotics platforms, databases and enterprise applications.


Support cybersecurity and data governance requirements for laboratory automation systems in collaboration with global IT teams.


Manage automation-related projects, including planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, risk assessment and technical implementation.


Evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to increase laboratory productivity, reliability and compliance.


Provide technical coaching and training to laboratory scientists and users of automation platforms.


Contribute to the development of a smart connected laboratory ecosystem aligned with Sandoz Digital and Operational Excellence strategies.

Who You Are

  • Engineering or Master’s degree in engineering, biology, biotechnology, automation, robotics or a related field.

  • Ideally, you have 5 years of experience in a similar role.

  • A professional level of English is required to work effectively within this international team (meetings, technical documentation, etc.).

  • Able to interpret experimental needs and translate them into automation specifications.

  • Background with popular programming languages (e.g. Python, C++).

  • Knowledge of data visualization and analytics tools (e.g. JMP, Power BI or similar).

  • Understanding of Instrumentation and Control systems including sensors, PLCs, communication protocols, and supervisory systems.

  • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS), scientific data platforms, or digital laboratory transformation projects is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of data integrity principles (ALCOA+) and regulated laboratory environments is considered a strong advantage.

  • Familiarity with version control systems, issue-tracking tools and software lifecycle management practices is desirable.

  • Experience connecting laboratory instruments, databases and analytical software platforms is an advantage.

  • Positive with good service motivation.

  • Able to work in an active, collaborative, constructive and respectful manner with all colleagues within and across departments.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with flexibility in a changing and demanding environment.
