Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

The Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute assigned maintenance works, upgrading projects, and operational initiatives, while ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and serviceable condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections, monitor system performance, and implement proactive maintenance strategies to enhance asset reliability and minimise operational disruptions.
  • Oversee contractors and vendors to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance works are carried out effectively and in compliance with contractual requirements, statutory regulations, safety standards, and operational policies. Coordinate closely with internal departments, operational stakeholders, tenants, and service providers to plan and execute maintenance activities smoothly, with minimal impact on port operations and business continuity.
  • Promptly identify, investigate, and resolve M&E-related issues to maintain a safe working environment and support uninterrupted operations. This includes coordinating emergency response and recovery efforts, providing technical support and guidance to contractors during incidents, and responding to emergency calls outside normal working hours whenever required.
  • Oversee rectification works and ensure issues are fully resolved and normal operations are restored.
  • Drive continuous improvement in facilities management practices, operational efficiency, asset reliability, and regulatory compliance while safeguarding the safety, welfare, and security of staff, visitors, and premises.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline; or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Proven experience in contractor management, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and project execution.
  • Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance of M&E systems and facilities.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to carry out maintenance works with minimal impact on operations.
  • Experience in managing emergency responses and resolving M&E-related incidents in a timely manner.
  • Experience in Green Mark certification applications and sustainability project management will be an advantage.
  • Possession of a Class 3 Driving Licence and/or a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) Grade 7 or Grade 8 certification will be an added advantage.
  • Open-minded and willing to undertake cross-functional deployments.
  • Able to multitask and take a proactive approach in executing assigned tasks.
  • Service-oriented, self-motivated, highly disciplined, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • A good team player who is adaptable and able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
