Our employer partner (a facility management company) is currently looking to add an experienced Maintenance Helper to their team!

As a CBRE Maintenance Helper, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, building systems, and equipment.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs of equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand duties of both, Dock Loaders and Dock Receivers

  • Move and handle large and cumbersome freight in a dock environment

  • Utilize proper handling techniques to ensure items are protected from damage

  • Ensure all inbound and outbound freight is accurately and efficiently received and shipped in accordance with company procedures.

  • Escorts Delivery vendors in to and out of the facility. Directs delivery vehicles to appropriate locations.

  • Maintains computer-based inventory, control/shipping programs, stock keeping

  • Inspects loading dock equipment.

  • Performs light duties: sweeping, general cleaning, garbage removal, snow removal, etc.

  • Completes basic preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required

  • Completes general maintenance of door/window hardware

  • Re-lamps as required

  • Maintains signage

  • Complete filter changes

  • Inspects/repairs interior/exterior elements i.e., walls, sidewalks, etc.

  • Maintains/repairs concrete precast/cement

  • Inspects roof for debris; reports damage

  • Repairs drywall/tiles (floor and wall)

  • Assists trade as required with light maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment

  • Escalates unusual events, occurrences or unsafe conditions to supervisor

  • Responds to basic tenant requests and emergencies

  • Monitors work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards

  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable codes

  • Maintain a clean work environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous handyperson experience is an asset

  • Previous warehouse or dock receiving experience is an asset

  • Basic computer and data entry skills

  • Ability to read shipping documents and follow instructions

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to defined weight limits)

  • Customer service skills to ensure client requests are responded to professionally.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
