Securities Services - Business Control Manager - Vice President

Join JPMorgan Chase’s Securities Services Controls Management team in Australia and help strengthen a control environment that supports the business and services. Partner across business, operations, technology, and control functions to drive effective governance, risk identification, and sustainable remediation.
As a Vice President in Securities Services Controls Management, you will support the execution and continuous enhancement of the controls framework across services provided in Australia, including Custody, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency and Agency Securities Finance. You will perform control reviews, coordinate issue management, and contribute to governance and reporting for senior stakeholders. You will also support audit and regulatory engagements through effective coordination, evidence gathering, and timely closure of actions. Your work will help improve operational resilience and strengthen the overall risk and control environment.
Job responsibilities:
- Support execution of the Securities Services controls framework and associated governance requirements across Australia
- Perform control reviews and assessments to identify gaps, weaknesses, and enhancement opportunities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining controls, procedures, and monitoring activities
- Partner with business, operations, technology, compliance, legal, risk, and audit stakeholders to strengthen control effectiveness and operational resilience
- Maintain documentation for key processes, controls, procedures, and operating models
- Coordinate tracking and remediation of control issues, audit findings, regulatory observations, and operational risk events; escalate as appropriate
- Support root cause analysis and development of sustainable corrective actions
- Perform thematic reviews and trend analysis of incidents, issues, and control performance indicators
- Prepare management reporting, dashboards, and governance materials related to controls, incidents, risks, and issues
- Support governance forums through meeting preparation, action tracking, and follow-ups; maintain accurate evidence and records
- Coordinate responses to internal/external audit and regulatory reviews, including evidence gathering and monitoring action closure
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 7 plus years experience in Operations, Business Management, Risk, Controls, Audit, or Compliance within banking/financial services
- Understanding of Securities Services products and/or operating processes (e.g., Custody, Fund Services, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, and Agency Securities Finance and relevant asset servicing)
- Knowledge of operational risk management concepts, issue management practices, and control frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Ability to identify process weaknesses and recommend practical, implementable improvements
- Experience supporting audit, regulatory, or risk-related reviews (coordination, evidence, action management). Experience preparing management information, dashboards, and governance materials for stakeholder forums
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey clear and concise updates
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proven ability to work effectively across business, operations, technology, and control functions. Comfort operating in a dynamic environment with evolving risks, priorities, and regulatory expectations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience with process mapping, procedure documentation, and/or control design
- Knowledge of relevant custody, asset servicing, fund services or agency securities finance regulations applicable to the role
- Experience conducting thematic reviews and trend analysis across incidents, issues, and control performance data
- Familiarity with operational resilience practices and control monitoring approaches
- Experience partnering with front office stakeholders within a controls management or first-line risk context
- Exposure to firmwide risk and control programs and governance routines
- Background or familiarity with 12 CFR Part 9 obligations
