- The Part Time Food Service Supervisor at Wiley University is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Monitor food preparation and serving techniques to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations within the food service area.
- Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events or catering services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports and maintain records related to food service operations.
QualificationsRequired Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food service or hospitality environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record of managing a team in a fast-paced food service setting.
- Experience with inventory management and food safety regulations.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints professionally.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
