Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our Advanced Development Team. As part of this team you will help in the integration of flight critical components and sub-systems for conventional aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast paced, and rewarding environment. Responsibilities

  • Implement key ideas and process improvements that drive company growth
  • Enjoys creative problem-solving
  • Passion for mastering new technologies
  • Work closely with engineering to build electrical assemblies and integrate hardware installations in support of rapid aircraft development.
  • Prepare aircraft electrical and wire harness subassembly kits
  • Manufacture complex wire harnesses and custom electrical assemblies
  • Maintain accurate historical data and record-keeping for aircraft health and repairs.
  • Perform systems checkout and debugging, as to bring sub-systems to an operational status, while strictly adhering to best practices and proper documentation.
  • Ensure parts availability for repairs and maintain an organized electrical shop
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to secure repair slots and optimize repair time.
  • Support aircraft mechanics during in-aircraft wire harness installation

Required

  • 5 years of experience in harness fabrication or related electronics manufacturing
  • Strong work ethic
  • Team oriented attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability
  • Familiarity with serial and differential communication protocols
  • Familiarity with standards IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, AS50881
  • Experience using word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Proficiency with soldering of electronics, wiring harness manufacture, and overall electrical craftsmanship

Desired

  • Experience with component assembly and systems integration of aircraft flight hardware
  • Experience with wiring and interface with DAQs (data acquisition modules)
  • Experience with installing sensors (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermistors)
  • Experience with computer networks and linux computers
  • Associates, technical degree or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $39-$47/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
