Procurement Officer
About this role
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational needs and sustainability goals.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers for food, beverages, packaging, and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery receipts, and vendor performance.
- Collaborate with kitchen managers, finance, and operations teams to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Monitor inventory levels using accounting systems and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Promote sustainable procurement by prioritizing local, organic, and ethically sourced ingredients and materials.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage relationships to ensure reliability and value.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing, vendor consolidation, and competitive bidding.
- Support compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to procurement and inventory management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of proven experience in procurement within the food services, hospitality, or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement management principles, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable procurement practices and environmental responsibility.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement software tools.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, or local equivalents) is highly desirable.
