Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Jimini Health is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to drive key infrastructure and API development for our healthcare platform. You’ll join a focused backend team responsible for scalable systems that power patient and therapist-facing applications, with a strong emphasis on security and HIPAA-conscious design. A 10+ year backend track record and the ability to architect end-to-end solutions will help us move fast in a complex healthcare environment.
What youll do
- Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power our patient and therapist-facing applications.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance across all services, implementing proper PHI handling, audit trails, and security controls.
- Create robust, well-documented REST APIs with proper validation, error handling, and monitoring.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system health and quickly diagnose issues.
- Work closely with Frontend, Product, and Clinical teams to define technical requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
What Jimini Health is looking for
- 10+ years of backend software development experience.
- Experience architecting backend solutions from scratch.
- Proficiency in Golang, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Experience with Zod or similar schema validation libraries.
- Ability to distill competing priorities into clear, actionable technical designs.
- Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting for system health.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, building scalable backend systems, and deploying to production on Google Cloud Platform.
- Touchpoints with HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and healthcare data systems.
- Experience with Google Cloud Run.
- Experience with Firebase/Firestore.
- Experience ensuring HIPAA compliance, including PHI handling, audit trails, and security controls.
