Job Description:

As a Logistics & Road Transport Supervisor, you will be a key contributor to Shell's Goal Zero ambition in one of the region's most challenging road transport environments. The role requires strong safety leadership to embed IOGP road transport principles, influence contractor behavior, strengthen assurance processes, and continuously improve safety performance across the logistics value chain.

The successful candidate will provide leadership across road transport assurance, contractor performance management, logistics operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition to overseeing road transport activities, the role will support broader logistics operations across Egypt, contributing to efficient supply chain execution, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities

Safety & Transport Assurance

  • Champion Shell’s Goal Zero culture across all logistics and transportation activities.
  • Lead the implementation of IOGP Land Transportation Safety standards and ensure compliance with Shell requirements and local regulations.
  • Manage contractor HSSE performance through audits, performance reviews, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
  • Monitor transport safety KPIs and develop initiatives to continuously improve safety performance.
  • Support emergency preparedness, response activities, and transport-related incident management.

Road Transport & Logistics Operations

  • Manage transport contractors to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective logistics services.
  • Monitor operational performance, service levels, and key performance indicators to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Support transport strategy development, fleet planning, business continuity, and supply chain resilience initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, customer service, and operational excellence.

Logistics Operations & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate lubricants logistics activities across supply, terminals, warehouses, and commercial teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Support distribution, inventory management, import/export processes, and warehouse operations.
  • Drive logistics improvement, digitalization, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with logistics providers, customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Contract & Supplier Management

  • Support tendering processes, contract development, negotiations, and implementation activities.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and foster long-term strategic partnerships.

Cost, Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support Shell’s sustainability ambitions by reducing logistics-related emissions and implementing lower-carbon transportation solutions.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and performance insights to improve business outcomes and support energy transition objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics operations, transportation management, contractor oversight, and supply chain activities.
  • Strong understanding of transport safety principles, logistics processes, and commercial management.
  • Proven track record of delivering operational improvements, cost optimization, and business value.
