Job Description:

1. Job Description

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Supervise and take duty in case Base oils cargo ship comes.
  • Perform the tests for base oils, additives, products according to LQS (Lubricant Quality Standards), GPC (Global Product Catalogue) and quality control plan to maintain the quality of finished products produced at Shell Vietnam Plant meet requirements of Shell.
  • Take part in inter-correlation and proficiency test program with other laboratories to evaluate the reliability of the laboratory test results.
  • Support the registering for quality of products at Department of Science and Technology and apply Statistical Process Control monitoring program.
  • Checking and keeping records for raw materials and finished products and make sure no case of Non – Conformance.
  • Maintain and coordinate with supplier to fix any issue related to lab equipment
  • Optimization in blending for maintaining quality stability and saving product’s cost.
  • Update formula to production.
  • Support to do trial blend.
  • To corporate with operation staffs to reduce the amount of slopping/flushing as much as possible through appropriate discharge and blending order.
  • Together with blending supervisor for solving dead stock by re-blending new kinds of products that avoid down grade”, especially in case of off-specification and advise operation staffs on recycling and disposal of slops.
  • Main responsibility in solving, investigating all cases of off-specification, customer complaints with a well cooperation with Technical Service and find out the best solution as well as prompt preventive/corrective action to upgrade product’s quality.
  • Other tasks assigned by Quality Manager.

Key Challenges:

  • Deliver high accuracy when doing the test of products/additives/base oil
  • Ensure all products meet Shell specification and Viet Nam standard before being supplied to the market
  • Conduct the test of LLCS (Lubricants Laboratory Correlation Scheme) samples.

2. Requirements:

  • University majoring in Chemistry /Chemical engineering or relevant
  • At least 1 -year working experience in Lubricants/Chemical or relevant industries; have functional competences in Laboratory activities
  • Proactive in perform duty.
  • Experienced in lab equipment maintenance, especially in ICP and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Computer skills: good, experience with SAP is preferred
  • Language skills: English – intermediate level

Soft skills required: Analysis, Problem-solving, Teamwork
