We are looking for an experienced Information and Digital Technology leader to shape and deliver the digital and technology agenda for our Türkiye business as part of our broader Mobility & Convenience Information and Digital Technology organisation. Mobility & Convenience is one of the most visible, customer-facing areas of the business, combining large-scale retail operations, convenience, fuels, electric mobility and digital customer experiences. This role partners closely with senior business leaders to ensure information and digital technology enables safe, reliable, customer-focused and commercially strong operations across a large retail and energy network.
The successful candidate will lead the local Information and Digital Technology organisation, manage strategic digital and technology demand and investment choices, and ensure services, suppliers, security, risk and continuity arrangements meet business needs. The role requires strong commercial judgement, senior stakeholder influence, delivery discipline and the ability to mobilise teams through change in a corporate matrix environment, balancing local market priorities with broader group standards and guardrails.
The role sits at the intersection of global Information and Digital Technology capability and local market execution. It is part of a wider organisation focused on using digital platforms, data, secure operations and technology-enabled innovation to improve customer experience, strengthen site operations and unlock business value across Mobility & Convenience.
Role Scope
The role is responsible for the Information and Digital Technology scope supporting the Türkiye joint venture, including mobility and convenience retail operations, trading and supply activities, lubricants, corporate functions and subsidiary company operations. The Türkiye market includes more than 1,200 service stations, creating a highly operational, customer-facing environment where digital reliability, cybersecurity and business continuity are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with country leadership and senior business stakeholders, acting as a strategic Information and Digital Technology partner and advisor.
- Translate business priorities into a clear technology agenda, ensuring investments support growth, operational resilience, customer experience and profitability.
- Lead Information and Digital Technology governance, demand management and portfolio prioritisation, balancing value, cost, risk, delivery capacity and long-term sustainability.
- Work effectively in a corporate matrix, aligning local market needs with group-wide priorities, standards and decision-making guardrails.
- Oversee the quality and effectiveness of technology services, ensuring strong performance, reliable operations and continuous improvement in user experience.
- Drive technology-enabled innovation, identifying opportunities to simplify, digitise and improve business processes, products, data usage and services.
- Ensure technology-related risks are identified, assessed and managed, including cybersecurity, information protection, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis response activities, maintaining visibility of critical Information and Digital Technology dependencies and service disruptions.
- Support supplier governance and sourcing activities, ensuring vendor services meet contractual, operational and business expectations.
- Lead, coach and develop the local Information and Digital Technology team, building capability, succession strength and a culture of safety, inclusion, collaboration and accountability.
Key Challenges
- Maintain and improve technology reliability across a large service-station network, supporting site uptime and maximising available trading hours.
- Deliver operational improvement plans in a complex market environment with legal, fiscal, regulatory and technology maturity considerations.
- Develop robust multi-year technology investment plans aligned with business strategy and operational priorities.
- Operate as an active member of country business leadership forums, contributing to executive-level decisions and cross-functional priorities.
- Balance strategic transformation with day-to-day service performance, risk management and business continuity expectations.
- Navigate the balance between local market requirements and broader group direction, ensuring solutions remain practical for the market while compliant with enterprise standards.
Leadership Dimensions
- Information and Digital Technology and operations budget of approximately $15 million.
- Direct leadership of around 10 team members.
- Leadership of an extended Information and Digital Technology team of more than 35 people across internal and partner resources.
- Regular partnership with more than 20 senior business stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Senior experience in Information and Digital Technology leadership roles such as Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, senior digital technology executive or equivalent.
- Significant experience in the technology industry, ideally with exposure to retail, energy, mobility, consumer services or other operationally intensive environments.
- Strong ability to align technology investments with business objectives and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leading digital transformation, enterprise change, technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, data and artificial intelligence enablement, enterprise architecture or portfolio management.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams, manage Information and Digital Technology budgets, oversee strategic supplier relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in a corporate matrix organisation, with the judgement to balance local business requirements, group priorities and defined enterprise guardrails.
- Commercial mindset, strong business curiosity and the ability to challenge constructively while maintaining trusted relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage at senior executive level in a complex organisation.
- Resilience, courage and accountability during periods of change, ambiguity and challenge.
- Fluency in business English and Turkish, both written and spoken.
- Relevant degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, business administration or a related field.
