About this role

For a quarter of a century, the Jellycat family have brought joy, wonder and playful fun to people of all ages, in every part of the world. Utterly original and in a class of their own, they are currently among the most loved and collected toys of their kind. How has this gentle tribe endeared themselves to so many? Perhaps it is their whimsical expressions. Or the deliciously soft fabrics. Or the beautiful way in which they sit in your hand. Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.

As part of Jellycat’s ambitious growth plans we are looking to appoint an experienced IP Paralegal to manage our anti-counterfeiting program from factory to consumer. This is part of our global brand protection programme.

The anti-counterfeiting role is pivotal to the business – ensuring the reputation and image of the company is not tarnished and that the IP assets are controlled for the benefit of Jellycat.

You'll be;

  • Work closely with the IP Counsel teams in the UK and China to address counterfeit issues across both online and offline sales channels, supporting investigations throughout the entire counterfeit supply chain.

  • Deliver customs training programmes on Jellycat's intellectual property rights, both in person and virtually, to support enforcement activities and improve awareness among relevant authorities.

  • Authenticate products seized by customs authorities in partnership with Jellycat's customs agents, providing expert assessments to support enforcement actions.

  • Participate in Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) initiatives and collaborate with Trading Standards and local regulators to support coordinated anti-counterfeiting efforts.

  • Liaise and work collaboratively with Europol and the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) to assist with investigations and enforcement activity relating to counterfeit goods.

  • Utilise case management, monitoring, and watch-and-takedown systems to identify and connect counterfeit activity across factories, wholesalers, retailers, and other parties within the supply chain.

  • Support the IP Counsel team in developing and pursuing strategic civil and criminal actions against individuals and organisations involved in the counterfeit supply chain.

  • Monitor and analyse emerging trends, supply chains, and shipping routes to identify patterns of counterfeit activity and potential enforcement opportunities.

  • Partner with Production teams to investigate suspected or confirmed product leaks from manufacturing facilities and support appropriate corrective action.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of anti-counterfeiting strategies designed to trace, disrupt, and prosecute counterfeit sellers within the luxury or consumer goods sectors.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with online marketplaces, social media platforms, and brand protection teams to facilitate the reporting and removal of counterfeit listings, while supporting global anti-counterfeiting initiatives.

  • Work alongside IP Counsel to secure and maintain intellectual property rights that strengthen Jellycat's anti-counterfeiting programme, including the use of trademarks, registered designs, copyright, and customs recordals.

  • Manage online watch-and-takedown activities directly or through external providers, continuously improving takedown performance through effective reporting, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Act as the key point of contact for the authentication of test purchases and develop authentication guides for customs authorities, takedown providers, and marketplace brand protection teams.

  • Develop and implement anti-counterfeiting strategies in collaboration with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, and external partners to combat the distribution of counterfeit goods.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date intellectual property database records, ensuring robust data management and adherence to all relevant deadlines.

  • Gather, organise, maintain, and store evidence relating to intellectual property infringements using Jellycat's evidence management systems.

  • Produce regular reports for management that provide insight into anti-counterfeiting activities, risks, trends, enforcement outcomes, and programme effectiveness.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with organisations such as the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG), PIPCU, Europol, React, and their member networks to support brand protection objectives.

You'll have;

  • Demonstrable experience of managing counterfeit-related issues as part of a global intellectual property or brand protection team.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with intellectual property colleagues to develop effective responses to counterfeit detections, sightings, and emerging threats.

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, stakeholder management, and knowledge-sharing skills.

  • Proven experience of managing an end-to-end anti-counterfeiting programme, from detection and investigation through to enforcement and reporting.

  • Strong experience in managing and directing external advisers, including investigators, to trace counterfeit supply chains from manufacture through to retail sale across both online and offline channels.

  • Demonstrable ability to maintain detailed records and intelligence databases, ensuring information is accurately captured and available for analysis, cross-referencing, and investigation purposes.

  • Experience of working with online takedown analysts and marketplace teams to identify, evidence, remove, and prevent the re-listing of counterfeit products.

  • Proven experience delivering training, guidance, and support to expand and enhance counterfeit takedown activity across major online marketplaces and social media platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of online marketplaces, social media platforms, and the technologies and methodologies used to identify and remove counterfeit listings.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence marketplace brand protection teams and external stakeholders to support enforcement objectives and improve anti-counterfeiting outcomes.

  • Proven capability to manage a high volume of complex activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and effective prioritisation.
