The Opportunity
As our Lab Technician Intern, you will assist with preparation of samples and residue analysis for Citrus products. You will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and assist with a variety of procedures that include handling chemicals and testing products. You will be based out of the Riverside, CA site. Internship is expected to run through May-June
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently prepare and extract residue samples, ensuring readiness for accurate and timely analysis.
- Conduct residue analyses with precision, adhering to established protocols.
- Maintain and stock reagents, ensuring their quality and integrity are preserved.
- Keep the laboratory clean and organized, ensuring an efficient working environment.
- Regularly check and maintain lab equipment, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors for resolution.
- Additional responsibilities besides the ones listed below may be revised.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or holding an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
- Experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or job is mandatory.
- Basic laboratory experience is required.
- Comfortable working with chemicals.
- Able to read and understand Chemical SDS’s.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor/outdoor weather, moving industrial machinery, chemicals and fumes, noisy or dusty environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, squat and step up/down for various amounts of time and paces.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to lift, push, pull and move materials, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Hand Use: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
The estimated annual salary/hourly range for this role is $ 20.00/hour - $25.00/hour Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
