How You Will Make an Impact

The Aftermarket Parts & Service Outside Sales Representative is responsible for growing aftermarket revenue by developing new customers, expanding existing accounts, and building strong long-term customer relationships within the assigned territory.

This is a customer-facing, growth-oriented sales position requiring regular field activity, proactive prospecting, account development, and follow-through. The representative will identify customer needs and opportunities and develop solutions utilizing the Company's aftermarket parts, service, and support capabilities.

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys developing new business, building customer relationships, solving customer problems, and taking ownership of sales opportunities from initial contact through order completion and ongoing account development.

 

The Nuts and Bolts

  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused on growing aftermarket Parts and Service revenue.
  • Prospect for and develop new customers and accounts through field visits, phone calls, referrals, networking, and other business development activities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Parts and Service sales within existing customer accounts.
  • Maintain an active schedule of customer visits and develop strong relationships with customer decision-makers, purchasing personnel, maintenance teams, operations personnel, and other key contacts.
  • Understand customer equipment, operations, maintenance needs, and business challenges in order to identify and recommend appropriate aftermarket solutions.
  • Proactively pursue sales opportunities and follow up on leads, quotes, open opportunities, and customer requests.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals and work with customers to successfully convert opportunities into orders.
  • Coordinate with internal Parts, Service, Sales, and branch personnel to provide customers with timely and effective solutions.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding pricing, availability, delivery, service requirements, order status, and other aftermarket needs.
  • Maintain accurate customer, account, activity, opportunity, and sales information within Salesforce and other Company systems.
  • Develop relationships with new accounts and maintain consistent follow-up to convert prospects into active customers.
  • Identify opportunities for stocking programs, quick-turn inventory, planned maintenance support, and other solutions that improve customer service and increase aftermarket sales.
  • Monitor territory activity, customer needs, competitive activity, and market opportunities and communicate relevant information to management.
  • Work closely with branch and aftermarket leadership to develop initiatives that increase customer penetration, retention, revenue, and profitability.
  • Assist with order entry, order status, customer service, and issue resolution when necessary to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and coordinate internally to achieve timely resolution.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improving aftermarket products, services, processes, and customer experience.
  • Participate in sales meetings, customer events, trade shows, and other business development activities as required.
  • Achieve established sales, account-development, customer-activity, and other performance objectives.

 

Required Credentials

  • Minimum of 0-2 year of customer service experience and outside sales – Parts Sales environment preferred
  • Experience with large ERP (Order Entry) system preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
