Your opportunity 

You will assist the financial reporting senior manager with oversight of the regular financial reporting for our investment trust and hedge fund range, including:

 

  • Oversight of financial board papers presented to the investment trust boards
  • Oversight of the statutory annual and six-monthly accounts prepared by the third-party administrators (TPAs) for the investment trust and hedge fund ranges
  • Working with other teams within JHI that provide services to the fund ranges in respect of financial reporting matters
  • Liaising with the auditors throughout the audit process
  • Dealing with any ad hoc financial queries and financial reporting requests;
  • Providing support to the wider investment trust and hedge fund teams
  • Presenting financial reports to the investment trust and hedge fund boards
  • Support launch/closure and corporate transaction projects for the fund ranges
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

 

  • Accounting knowledge of Investment Trust reporting framework, including the AIC SORP, hedge fund accounts, UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish good working relationships with Stakeholders
  • Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
  • Enthusiastic, approachable and able to work well across team
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility of tasks and actions
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work with Copilot and embrace opportunities to embed AI within operating models

 

Nice to have skills

 

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Experience of role overseeing third party provider
