Your opportunity

 

  • Conduct research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the energy and materials sectors, giving careful consideration to forecasted growth, competitive positioning, quality of financial reporting and management
  • Construct models to identify the key questions that need to be answered in the research process, determine critical drivers and forecast future revenue, earnings and cash flows
  • Undertake research visits and meetings to develop and deepen industry expertise, including engagement with competitors, customers, suppliers and other relevant constituents
  • Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations
  • Contribute to broader team priorities and other responsibilities as needed

Must have skills

 

  • Four-year degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as an equity research or investment analyst, ideally within a buy-side environment; or alternatively an MBA with at least 2 years post-MBA experience
  • Expertise within the energy and materials sectors, coupled with strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to identify differentiated investment opportunities across the global energy, power and materials ecosystem
  • Demonstrated stock-picking ability, with a proven track record of generating value through investment recommendations
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively to a range of audiences
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and make well-reasoned investment decisions, while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop credibility and influence with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence, with a willingness to go above and beyond to support investment performance and contribute to the success and growth of the business

  • Post-graduate degree such as MBA, CFA and/or CPA

Compensation information

 

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be open through August 31, 2026.
