JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:

The Fund Accountant reviews and analyzes the financial reporting on a property and fund level basis. This position works under the supervision of the Fund Accounting Vice Presidents. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and

    Accounting and real estate industry knowledge preferred

    Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

Licenses and Certifications:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Reviews operational monthly financial reporting packages for multiple properties

    Monitors various entity level cash balances and prepares monthly bank reconciliations for various entity bank accounts

    Prepares lender reporting packages and reviews the calculation of certain debt covenants

    Processes invoices for various entity level expenses

    Coordinates and communicates the results, findings and recommendations of monthly reviews with various departments including Asset Management and Property Management

    Review and understanding of partnership agreements, loan documents, and leases

    Assists with external audits and reviews including preparation of year-end audit workpapers

    Prepares reconciliations for various entity level balance sheet accounts

    Prepares journal entries for various entity level activity

    Prepares and/or reviews quarterly investor reporting

      Knowledge of:

    Financial analysis

    Real estate 

    Workpaper preparation

    Audit procedures and processes

     Skills:

    Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills 

    The ability to meet deadlines, accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure & effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions

    Self-motivation, teamwork and collaboration

    Detail oriented, logical, and methodical approach to problem solving

    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
