About the Role:
The Pantry Cook at Campbell plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team by preparing and organizing cold food items and ingredients with precision and care. This position ensures that all pantry stations are stocked, clean, and ready for service, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of food preparation. The Pantry Cook is responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation while assisting with the preparation of salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and other cold dishes. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately, and effective communication with other kitchen staff. Ultimately, the Pantry Cook helps create a seamless dining experience by ensuring that all pantry-related tasks are completed promptly and to the highest standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment, preferably in a pantry or cold food station role.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes accurately.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment.
- Familiarity with a variety of cold food preparation techniques and ingredients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and service staff.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble cold dishes such as salads, sandwiches, and appetizers according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry area, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure all food items are fresh, properly labeled, and stored at appropriate temperatures to comply with food safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and communicating needs to the kitchen management team.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations and timely food service.

The Pantry Cook uses their knowledge of food safety and sanitation daily to ensure all pantry items are prepared and stored correctly, preventing contamination and spoilage. Attention to detail is critical when following recipes and assembling dishes to maintain consistent quality and presentation. Organizational skills help manage inventory and keep the pantry area clean and well-stocked, supporting efficient kitchen operations. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet service demands and resolve any issues promptly. Additionally, physical stamina and manual dexterity enable the Pantry Cook to perform repetitive tasks and maintain productivity throughout their shift.
