Position Summary
Assist and perform a wide range of chemical and physical analyses on petrol-fuels and chemicals. Operate equipment to control chemical changes or reactions generated by processing industrial or consumer products. This role requires strong hands-on laboratory expertise, adherence to safety and quality standards, and close collaboration with engineers and scientists.
Essential Functions
- Work in a laboratory environment that may contain chemical odors.
- Perform assigned duties according to the current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations while performing assigned duties.
- Collect data, document test results, and assist report preparation.
- Maintain, operate and calibrate high-pressure, high-temperature lab equipment.
- Perform material compatibility tests with various solvents and chemicals.
- Assist on sample preparation for failure analysis based on customer request.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in STEM
- Hands-on experience in Mechanical instruments, heavy lifting
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- 3-4years of oilfield experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Work Ethic: Be dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace. Display a sincere desire to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, and take responsibility for your own actions. Show a commitment to doing the best job possible.
- Physical Abilities: Lift and carry 50 pounds in various packaging. Tip and move 55-gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.
Work Environment
A laboratory environment in a building with a controlled atmosphere.
