Position Summary:
The Design Manager leads design initiatives for the Tenant Coordination team, focusing on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) documentation and tenant-related design efforts. Key responsibilities include maintaining Lease Outline Drawings, managing field verifications, and keeping site plans updated to reflect current tenant statuses. The role also involves creating design visuals, assessing tenant remodeling requirements, and partnering with cross-functional teams such as Leasing, Construction, and Operations to ensure project alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain Lease Outline Drawings to deliver accurate spatial data for leasing and landlord records and conduct and manage field verification processes as required.
- Oversee monthly site plan revisions to accurately illustrate active, incoming, and vacating tenants in alignment with lease execution and completion.
- Develop and distribute Field Area Measure Memos and Suite Condition Reports to support leasing, construction, and asset management teams.
- Produce concept space cuts, site plans, and photo sims for internal and external use.
- Attend on-site tenant renewal inspections and document findings for the team through detailed photography and standard reports
- Evaluate tenant remodel needs by researching current brand prototypes and branding.
- Update and distribute Tenant Design Guidelines.
- Communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams including Construction Services, Retail Design, Leasing, Finance, and Operations.
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of retail build-outs and tenant construction.
- Knowledge of interior design best practices, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, and building codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience:
- 3+ years in retail design and project management
Additional Requirements:
- Valid California driver’s license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company’s MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.)
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $103,800.00 - $129,600.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
