About this role

IRP Systems is seeking a dedicated Purchase Officer to manage and oversee our procurement processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  • Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future demands to maintain optimal stock.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and guidelines.
  • Sourcing mechanical and plastic-part suppliers in India, particularly in the Bangalore area.
  • Managing mechanical suppliers and monitoring their performance.
  • Conducting commercial negotiations and managing agreements with local suppliers.
  • Managing engineering changes with suppliers, including drawing and revision updates.
  • Cost analysis and pricing of molds, tools, and tooling.
  • Qualifying new mechanical suppliers—from initial supplier search, RFQ and capability assessment through sample production, quality approval, and transition to serial production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of cost savings.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

You’ll be responsible for the following

Source and qualify potential suppliers for Mechanical components & Knowledge of electronic components, tools, and equipment.

  • Build and manage relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payments, lead times to secure favourable terms.
  • Place timely purchase orders to maintain optimum stock levels.
  • Continuous monitoring and coordination of purchase orders and supplier deliveries.  
  • Ensure all procurement documentation is accurately maintained in ERP system.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure supplier quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks; implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain
  • Manage import/export processes for local and international procurement, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and optimizing logistics efficiency.
