About this role

About Ironsite

Ironsite is building the intelligence layer for the physical world. We design our own wearable hardware, deploy it alongside craft workers, and transform a shift's footage into a next-morning report. Our internal team and purpose-built models label the data overnight and deliver actionable insights to superintendents by 5 AM.

We are accelerating the speed, efficiency, and predictability of construction, especially for complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects, including data centers, LNG facilities, sports stadiums, hospitals, and other large-scale developments, by training AI models on egocentric construction footage and labor productivity data. We are built with a pro-worker philosophy at our core: we believe technology should empower the workforce, not replace it. We're working to give craft workers and project leaders better visibility into what's happening on-site, while creating a system where the reality of construction and the chaos of each day is finally available to the people running the project.

Ironsite is deployed across several of the largest active construction projects in the country. To date, we've captured more than 100,000 hours of construction footage across seven states, now process thousands of hours of site activity every day, and maintain a worker opt-out rate below two percent. This is enabled by a workforce-first architecture that anonymizes devices, captures no audio, and never releases raw video.

Ironsite is backed by leading investors (8VC, South Park Commons, Saga Ventures) and prominent operators across technology and construction, including Eric Schmidt, Jeff Dean, Jeff Rothschild, Mark Leslie, Scott Wu, Eric Glyman, Karim Atiyeh, Russell Kaplan, and others, alongside over a dozen construction industry operators who have joined us as partners in building this.

Longer term, we believe Ironsite is the foundation for what construction becomes in the next decade. We think the systems we're building are the operating system for how the physical world gets built, and will unlock a fundamentally different way of respect for our workforce. One where craft workers are more valued, more visible, and better paid for the skill they bring, and where the industry finally has the intelligence layer that makes autonomous construction possible. Both futures start with the same foundation.

The Role

We're hiring our first Mechanical Global Supply Manager to lead the sourcing and supply chain strategy for Ironsite's hardware.

You'll own the mechanical commodity strategy for our first-generation product, and you'll do it in a fast-moving environment where the market is already asking for what we're building. This is not sourcing for a product looking for a market. This is sourcing for a product that has customers waiting, deployments already running, and a hardware roadmap that scales into the millions of units over the next few years.

This role reports into the Supply Chain function and works closely with Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Finance. You'll be one of the earliest hires in supply chain, which means you'll set the standard for how Ironsite builds its supply base, negotiates with suppliers, manages risk, and scales production. Everything you do becomes the foundation the rest of the team runs on.

What You'll Own

Sourcing and strategy.
  • Develop and execute a global commodity strategy for mechanical components, including CNC-machined parts, die castings, sheet metal, injection-molded plastics, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers in alignment with cost, quality, and lead time targets.
  • Lead RFQ and RFP processes and drive competitive bidding across the supply base.

Supplier management.
  • Own the supplier relationship from selection through lifecycle management.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers (QBRs) and set the operating cadence for how we engage with our supply base.
  • Drive supplier development programs and corrective actions.
  • Own supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Lead capacity planning, dual-sourcing, and risk mitigation for long-lead and critical parts.
  • Resolve supply disruptions decisively and prevent repeats.

Cost, contracts, and scalability.
  • Negotiate long-term supply agreements, pricing, and terms.
  • Drive costs down through design collaboration, process optimization, and commercial negotiations. Target year-over-year cost reductions while maintaining a win-win approach with suppliers.
  • Define tooling strategies, capacity investments, and ramp plans with suppliers as Ironsite scales from thousands of units to hundreds of thousands.

Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Align with engineering on DFM during NPI.
  • Align closely with operations and planning on capacity and delivery performance.
  • Support escalations related to supply disruptions or shortages.
  • Ensure supply assurance by driving necessary and timely action for potential supply issues, aligning with the CM and Head of Supply Chain for accurate clear-to-build.

What We're Looking For

Required
  • 5-8+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or commodity management, ideally at a hardware company scaling from early production to volume.
  • Deep experience with mechanical manufacturing processes: machining, casting, stamping, sheet metal, injection molding, and related processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing Asia-based suppliers, including on-site engagement and supplier development.
  • Experience working with a global supply base at the executive level, and holding suppliers accountable to commitments.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills. You've closed deals that mattered.
  • Comfort with international travel. This role will require meaningful time on the ground with suppliers overseas.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems (Arena, Propel, or similar).
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.

Strongly preferred
  • Experience with battery pack and optical subassemblies.
  • Prior experience as an early supply chain hire at a hardware startup that scaled from early volumes to full production. You've been through the zero-to-scale journey and know what breaks first.
  • Ability to generate clear and concise updates to all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing cross-functional and international resources to achieve objectives on time and on budget.

Nice to have
  • Mandarin or Vietnamese language proficiency.
  • Experience with consumer electronics, wearables, or ruggedized hardware programs.
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing partners in Taiwan, mainland China, or Southeast Asia.

What Success Looks Like

  • First 60 days. You know our full BOM, our current supply base, and our upcoming product roadmap cold. You've built relationships with our critical suppliers and identified the top three sourcing risks we need to address.
  • First 6 months. You've qualified new suppliers where we needed depth or geographic diversification, negotiated meaningful cost reductions on our highest-volume parts, and put in place the supplier management cadence that will scale with the company.
  • First 12 months. You're the internal authority on how Ironsite sources mechanical components. Our supply base is deeper, more resilient, and more cost-effective because of you. When we scale to hundreds of thousands of units, we're set up to do it because of the work you put in.

Location, Compensation, & Perks

  • San Francisco Bay Area (on-site)
  • Base salary: $175k-$200k per year, commensurate with experience
  • Significant early-stage equity
  • Full benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with 6% match
  • Daily catered breakfast and lunch
  • Office in San Francisco, next to Oracle Park and the Caltrain

Final compensation is determined by experience, location, and level.

Why This Role

Every category-defining hardware company has a supply chain leader who was the reason they could actually build at scale. Not because they had the best spreadsheet, but because they built the supplier relationships, negotiated the right deals, and prevented the disruptions that would have killed the company.

Ironsite is at that moment. We have the product, the customers, the funding, and the manufacturing partnerships. What we need now is the first supply chain leader who is going to build the mechanical supply base that lets us scale from thousands of devices to hundreds of thousands, without losing quality, without losing margin, and without losing time.

If you've spent your career building supply chains at hardware companies that scaled, and you're ready to do it again from the ground up in a company that's already earning the right to scale, we want to talk.
