This role is for a hands-on Business Development Representative on a small, fast-growing GTM team at Plato, focused on bringing modern AI into wholesale distribution. You'll own prospecting, shape how we sell to an underserved industry, and gain early exposure to company-building and cross-functional decision-making.

What you'll do

• Own the prospecting pipeline end-to-end: outreach to closing via phone, email, and social media with wholesale decision-makers.
• Test and optimize outbound and inbound lead generation, iterating quickly and cutting what doesn't work.
• Become the go-to expert on Plato's product, the wholesale market, and customer needs to persuade rather than pitch.
• Independently research B2B prospects and build sales materials and presentations that land.
• Write and refine call scripts and communication templates and share learnings through internal trainings.
• Work AI-native: identify and adopt AI tools to move faster and experiment with new approaches.
• Take early ownership in a post-seed company, shaping messaging, GTM strategy, and customer-facing processes.

What Plato is looking for

• Motivation to build something from scratch and enjoy getting your hands dirty.
• Some initial experience in SaaS sales and comfort with sales outreach channels (phone, email, social).
• Tech-savvy and/or interest in the industrial/wholesale sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in German and English.
• Ability to research customers independently and create compelling sales materials.
• Strong customer-facing skills: you genuinely enjoy talking to customers, can convince people, and are reliable.
• Goal-oriented, resilient, and bring a positive attitude to challenges.
