Job Summary:

The Classroom Learning Assistant will assist full-time teachers, reinforcing materials and lessons covered in the classroom to facilitate student learning.



 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 
  • Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans in the classroom by providing positive learning experiences, including large or small group instruction and one-on-one support
  • Prepare materials and resources for use in the classroom that support students’ learning goals
  • Administers assessments and quizzes to students.
  • Assist with the maintenance of records of student needs, instructional programs, student progress, preparation of forms, organizing and maintaining files
  • Occasionally works as a substitute teacher.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of classroom procedures and management.
  • Ability to relate to children and reinforce lessons taught in class.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with the lead teacher.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with the Google Suite or related software.
 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must attend new teacher professional development sessions 
 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to navigate all areas of the school quickly including indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
