Classroom Learning Assistant - Belmont Campus

Job Summary:
The Classroom Learning Assistant will assist full-time teachers, reinforcing materials and lessons covered in the classroom to facilitate student learning.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans in the classroom by providing positive learning experiences, including large or small group instruction and one-on-one support
- Prepare materials and resources for use in the classroom that support students’ learning goals
- Administers assessments and quizzes to students.
- Assist with the maintenance of records of student needs, instructional programs, student progress, preparation of forms, organizing and maintaining files
- Occasionally works as a substitute teacher.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of classroom procedures and management.
- Ability to relate to children and reinforce lessons taught in class.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with the lead teacher.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with the Google Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must attend new teacher professional development sessions
Physical Requirements:
- Able to navigate all areas of the school quickly including indoor and outdoor areas.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
