The Job You Will Perform:

• Support the Mill Reliability Leader in planning, scheduling, executing and documentation of inspections, repairs and modifications to Cranes, Tanks, Vessels, Boilers and Safety Relief Devices, steel and concrete structures and underground utilities
• Identify and schedule inspection and repair activities in Mill production areas
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with International Paper policies, standards and specifications
• Ensure that equipment documentation is kept up-to-date and stored in an orderly manner
• Coordinate contract inspection and repair resources with area operating departments during maintenance outages
• Maintain and update all hard copy and electronic files after modifications, repairs or replacement

 

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

• 4-year engineering degree or currently hold an NBIC, API 510 or API-653 certification, plus two (2) years practical experience with tank and vessel inspection

• Alternatively, five (5) years practical experience with tank or vessel inspection

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to climb ladders, walk distances, work from heights, work in confined spaces, stand or sit for extended lengths of time

• Work rotating shifts as required

• Active participation in mill safety programs (personal safety training, PJSA and BBS)
• Ability to visually identify equipment by type; e.g. storage tanks, boiler, pressure vessels & heat exchangers, relief valve, rupture disc
• Ability to visually identify basic materials of construction; e.g. concrete, fiberglass, plastic, carbon steel, and stainless steel 
• Mechanical aptitude.  Previous experience as a Mechanic, Welder or Pipefitter
• Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to generate reports and communicate with mill personnel. Must be able to navigate web-based service literature and programs.
• Ability to present information to small groups; e.g. Mill Lead Team, department MWS Teams, etc.
• Ability to sort and organize paper and electronic files
• Ability to coordinate contract inspection and repair resources with area operating departments
• Willingness to travel, if required
• Functional knowledge and skill in the use of SAP to create work notifications
