Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services (RIS) Department works to build welcoming communities for refugees and immigrants and accompanies newcomers on a path from surviving to thriving. The Digital Inclusion Specialist, under the supervision of the Economic Empowerment Coordinator, will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to promote digital inclusion among Inspiritus clients. They will develop an employment digital inclusion curriculum tailored to the organization's served populations, delivered monthly. In addition to group instruction, the Digital Inclusion Specialist will serve as a 1:1 coach providing individual, needs-based digital literacy coaching centered around employment. Through direct service and skills-based instruction, this position addresses the growing digital divide that limits economic opportunity for newly arrived refugees and immigrants. By equipping clients with the technology skills needed to access and sustain employment, the Digital Inclusion Specialist plays a critical role in advancing long-term economic integration and self-sufficiency.

Hours & Service Site

This position serves during regular Inspiritus hours of operation Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evening and weekend service. The Inspiritus office is located at 3919 Church Street, Clarkston, GA 30021. This position will include a hybrid of service sites, including the Inspiritus office and field-based service locations.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Individual Coaching

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate employment barriers resulting from lack of access to or existing knowledge of technology
Research and collect resources to promote digital literacy
Develop and deliver an employment digital inclusion curriculum monthly
Serve as a 1:1 coach providing individual, needs-based digital literacy coaching centered around employment

Employment Support

Research and connect clients with job fair opportunities
Coach clients on job fair etiquette, interview tips, and follow-up communication with employers
Assist with engaging and building employer relationships

Program & Coordination

Update and track goal outputs/outcomes with accuracy and timeliness
Coordinate program activities within the department and across other departments to ensure efficiency
Attend meetings as required
Maintain personal and professional boundaries in the performance of the job
Forge mutually respectful partnerships with clients, co-workers, and referral sources
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
Perform other duties as assigned to meet program needs

In performing these activities, the member will achieve the following goal: Provide 70 clients with employment/job training skills where 40 clients will secure employment or better employment as a result of the aforementioned activities.QualificationsQualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 18 years of age
Ability to pass Criminal History Checks
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Experience and/or interest in working in a culturally diverse environment
Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must have the ability to communicate with all people in a culturally competent manner
Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change
Ability to work collaboratively with a team

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, business, social science, or social work
Experience working with a diverse staff and/or volunteers
Familiarity with major Atlanta employers, public transportation, and neighborhoods
Experience with human services programs
Reads, writes, and speaks a relevant foreign language

Service Environment

The Digital Inclusion Specialist will serve in a hybrid environment, with regular in-office days required weekly, and may perform service functions at outposted locations as assigned. Local travel is estimated up to 50%. Regular interaction with clients, co-workers, and community partners is expected.

Stipend

AmeriCorps commit to serving 1715 hours over 10.5 months of service. Members will receive a living allowance of up to $20,500. In addition, members earn an education award of $7,395 upon successful completion of the full 1715 hours.
