ROLE SUMMARY:
Australian International School (AIS) Saigon, a renowned international, co-educational K-13 school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been educating young men and women for more than 16 years.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to deliver high-quality English language acquisition and English curriculum instruction. This dual-role position supports students in developing both academic English proficiency and advanced literacy skills required for success in secondary learning pathways, including the IGCSE and IB programmes.
All teachers at AIS are expected to effectively develop and deliver the curriculum in line with the Inspired Education Group’s expectations and meet Inspired teaching standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use a range of instructional techniques and media consistent with available resources and student needs.
- Develop, deliver, and assess English in the lower secondary, Cambridge IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme.
- Provide a positive learning environment for each student and inspire students to expand their understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student to be socially and academically successful.
- Organise and lead extra-curricular activities and student engagement in Science.
- Use a variety of assessment methods to ensure student knowledge and understanding are appropriately recorded.
- Ensure the required standards of classroom management and student behaviour are met.
- Desirable: Supervise Extended Essay students for the IB Diploma and/or Community Service projects as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A positive, child-centred individual with excellent communication skills.
- Qualified teaching certificate/licensure appropriate for grade level and subject area.
- Bachelor’s degree in English and Teaching Certification in English
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with students.
- Experience in teaching IGCSE Cambridge and IB is desirable
- Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities, and techniques related to teaching English at the required level.
- Well-organised and proficient in school management systems.
- Patient, flexible, and innovative, with a clear comprehension of how students learn.
- Team player, diplomatic, proactive and problem-solver.
