The Opportunity: 


We're looking for a talented and driven Applications Engineer to help our customers deploy and optimize their software on our new accelerated computing platform. In this high-impact role, you will be a key technical resource, applying your programming and performance tuning skills to a wide range of cutting-edge HPC-AI workloads. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Customer Solutions & Technical Enablement
    • Serve as the primary technical expert during pre-sales engagements, guiding customers through the deployment, porting, and optimization of HPC and AI workloads on the Thunderbird "supercomputer cluster-on-a-chip" platform.
    • Articulate the architectural advantages of Thunderbird and act as the first line of technical support to maximize workload performance.
  • Product Feedback & Requirements Definition
    • Translate customer-facing application bottlenecks, workload profiles, and functional requirements into actionable specifications for internal hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Technical Content & Sales Enablement
    • Develop high-impact technical assets, including proof-of-concept demos, application notes, whitepapers, and benchmarking guides, to accelerate customer onboarding.
    • Design and deliver technical training programs for the direct sales organization, field engineers, and channel partners.
  • Next-Gen Architecture & Modeling
    • Collaborate with research and hardware design teams to develop, validate, and refine performance models for next-generation accelerated computing platforms.
  • Strategic Relationship Management
    • Establish deep, trusted technical partnerships with engineering leads, software architects, and technical executives across strategic focus accounts.
    • Build seamless cross-functional bridges with internal engineering, product, and sales teams to drive rapid issue resolution and alignment.

What You Bring: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with development in one or more HPC-AI application domains. 
  • Programming Skills: Excellent C/C++ programming skills; proficiency in Fortran is a plus. 
  • Technical Knowledge: 
    • Working knowledge of Linux. 
    • Ability to measure and profile HPC-AI application-level performance at the node level. 
    • Working understanding of OpenMP, MPI, or related parallel programming models. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to analyze complex data and attention to detail. 
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to technical stakeholders. 
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel as necessary and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. 

Bonus Points: 

  • Experience with competitive performance analysis. 
  • Experience with graph analytics or other compute-intensive workloads.
