About this role

Inova Center for Advanced Medical Simulation is looking for a dedicated Simulation Technician to join the Team. This full-time role will be day-shift working Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm with occasional Saturdays located in Falls Church, VA.


The Simulation Technician ensures the execution of appropriate equipment maintenance and inventory. Supports daily operations of the Simulation Laboratory. Troubleshoots malfunctions in low/high-fidelity simulation and training equipment.

Simulation Technician Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that simulation equipment is in working order and that routine maintenance is performed according to recommended schedules. 
  • Orders, stocks and organize laboratory supplies. 
  • Ensures that appropriate vendor relationships are maintained in accordance with Inova Health System policies. 
  • Acts as the primary point of contact to faculty during simulation sessions. 
  • Serves as a simulation operator by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty.
  • Obtains, prepares, cleans and replaces all equipment and supplies necessary for each simulation event.
  • Operates basic and networked audio/visual equipment to record and playback scenarios for debriefing, documentation and research purposes.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification: At least two years of experience in a relevant clinical environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Bioengineering preferred.

  • Previous IT experience preferred.
