Position Overview

In this multifaceted role, the individual will develop strategic sourcing plans for sourced power tools and lifts as well as related components. Additionally, the candidate will be required to conduct market research, and work collaboratively across departments to align sourcing strategies with the company's overarching goals. They will cultivate and strengthen supplier relationships, drive cost-saving measures, and provide valuable input to New Product Development (NPD) teams. Furthermore, the role encompasses managing the sourcing setup and enrichment process, verifying MBOMs for production accuracy, and overseeing the Oracle system configurations to guarantee operational readiness and cost efficiency in procurement processes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop strategic sourcing plans for electronic components and motors in line with company specifications and production needs.
  • Undertake market research to identify potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and evaluate their performance.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure that sourcing strategies are well-integrated with company goals.
  • Maintain and enhance supplier relationships, including conducting performance reviews and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and analyzing the total cost of ownership.
  • Contribute sourcing knowledge to New Product Development (NPD) teams, aligning with product design requirements.
  • Verify and rectify the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) as needed for production accuracy.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing, especially in electronic components and motors.
  • Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving significant cost savings.
  • Skilled in Oracle and Windchill, as well as other relevant ERP/PLM systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to independently navigate a fast-paced work environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the power tools or lifting equipment industry.
  • Advanced degree or professional supply chain management certifications.
