Role Summary
As a Backend Engineer (Salesforce Path), you will be part of a cross-functional, product-focused engineering squad responsible for building and enhancing scalable backend solutions and Salesforce integrations.
You will design and develop high-quality services, collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across the globe, and help deliver reliable, secure, and customer-centric banking solutions. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about software engineering and want to combine Salesforce expertise with modern backend development practices.
About the Team
You'll join ING's international technology organization, working alongside talented engineers, architects, and product teams across multiple countries. Our Agile squads bring together diverse expertise to solve complex business challenges and create seamless customer experiences.

Required Skills
Must Have
- Proven experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, integrations, and Salesforce APIs
- Strong Java development experience (Java 8+, Java 11+ preferred)
- Experience working with Spring and Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development
- Experience with software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, design patterns, testing, and code quality
- Experience with Git or other version control tools
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
Nice to Have
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or II Certification
- Experience with Salesforce integrations and related tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps
- Experience with Maven or similar build tools
- Exposure to enterprise-scale applications within financial services
- Passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies
