Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Drive passive component development and technology integration activities for SMT to ensure package requirements are fulfilled in terms of manufacturability, product qualification, and reliability.
  • Serve as the technical expert for passive component materials and manufacturing processes, such as inductors, capacitors, and resistors, in package development projects.
  • Develop designs, drawings, and specifications for inductors in accordance with design guidelines and assembly rules, while ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and component suppliers on component design, requirements, specifications, and selection, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Lead passive component development activities and ensure timely achievement of project milestones, cost targets, and documentation deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements, including First Article Inspection (FAI) submission requirements and qualification release.
  • Establish design guidelines and requirements for passive component material specifications.
  • Own risk interaction assessments and mitigation activities, with a focus on process interactions and material-to-process interactions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on interaction-related topics and characterization activities as required.
  • Actively engage with suppliers to explore new technologies, cost-effective design solutions, and opportunities to achieve competitive advantages.

Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed 

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or Materials Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in passive component design, development, or manufacturing.
  • Experience in passive component development and qualification, including material selection and design activities.
  • Knowledge of material physics and material properties for passive components, including capacitors, resistors, and inductors.
  • Knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in SPC, data analysis, and statistical risk analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of inductor magnetics, including permeability and core loss, with a good understanding of inductor core materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in 3D modelling, 2D drawing preparation, and FEA simulation is an added advantage.
  • Able to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin.
