About this role

Compliance Manager

Department: Compliance & Integrity

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Kazakhstan

Description

Join our team as a Compliance Manager at inDrive. You'll take full ownership of two core compliance processes - KYC / third-party due diligence and the compliance review of high-risk contracts. You'll run them end to end, set the methodology and standards, and leverage AI-driven controls to screen faster, surface risks earlier, and keep our business ethical and transparent at scale. This is an ownership role for someone who likes building and improving how things work - not just ticking boxes - and who can be the team's go-to expert on complex, non-standard cases.

Key Responsibilities

KYC & Third-Party Due Diligence
  • Own the KYC and due diligence process end to end - including methodology, risk-tiering, templates, and procedures.
  • Run and quality-control ABC, sanctions, PEP, and adverse-media screening, as well as beneficial-ownership and conflict-of-interest checks.
  • Automate KYC workflows using screening tools (e.g., Dow Jones Risk & Compliance or similar platforms) to reduce manual effort and improve coverage.
Contract Review
  • Review high-risk contracts for compliance issues and risk red flags, providing sign-off within scope (sanctions and corruption risk).
  • Apply the right compliance provisions and own the standard compliance-clause library across various contract types and languages.
  • Negotiate clause wording and compliance positions with the business and counterparties.
Complex Cases & Process Ownership
  • Act as the senior expert on complex, high-risk, and non-standard cases.
  • Continuously improve both processes, including automation and control enhancements.
  • Partner with Legal team and the Business on policy updates and training.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Experience & Education
  • 5+ years in compliance, KYC/AML, third-party risk, or contract compliance in a global environment, with a proven track record of owning a process independently.
  • Strong anti-corruption and sanctions expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field. ICA / ACAMS certification is a strong plus.
Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Hands-on experience with sanctions/PEP screening tools (e.g., Dow Jones Risk & Compliance or equivalents).
  • Confident in reviewing high-risk contracts and drafting/negotiating compliance clauses.
  • Comfortable applying or experimenting with automation tools in compliance (hands-on experience with AI tools is a strong plus).
Communication & Ethics
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound, independent judgment on complex cases and high integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Self-driven; balances independent ownership with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
