Job Summary

The Commercial Loan Coordinator is responsible for supporting the commercial lending function through accurate and timely loan servicing, processing, and administrative support activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio by ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations. The Commercial Loan Assistant works closely with loan officers, customers, attorneys, appraisers, inspectors, and other third-party professionals to facilitate efficient loan closings and exceptional customer service.

This position also assists with departmental reporting, tracking, audits, and ongoing portfolio maintenance while performing additional related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain commercial loan files in an organized, accurate, and efficient manner. 
  • Process loan advances, paydowns, disbursements, and related servicing transactions. 
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate documentation for commercial loan closings. 
  • Order and track required due diligence items, including appraisals, environmental reports, property inspections, flood determinations, and other supporting documentation. 
  • Maintain tracking reports for flood insurance, property taxes, UCC filings, insurance coverage, and other loan-related requirements. 
  • Verify that all pre-closing conditions have been satisfied prior to funding authorization. 
  • Prepare loan funding information in accordance with approved loan terms and closing documentation. 
  • Process and monitor customer escrow deposits related to closing costs, appraisals, and fees. 
  • Collaborate with participant banks regarding funding arrangements for purchased and sold loans. 
  • Provide administrative and operational support for Commercial Lending Officers and staff. 
  • Review loan documents to ensure collateral is properly secured and borrower/guarantor obligations are accurately documented. 
  • Assist with internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews by gathering documentation and responding to requests in a timely manner. 
  • Support departmental quality control efforts by identifying process improvements and assisting with implementation of procedural enhancements. 
  • Maintain a high level of customer service while handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting. 
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. 
  • Knowledge of commercial loan documentation, SBA loan documentation, and insurance requirements preferred. 
  • Understanding of banking regulations and loan compliance standards preferred.   

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in loan operations, commercial loan processing, or loan closing environment required. 
  • Previous banking or commercial lending experience preferred. 

  

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Occasional travel to branch locations and for business-related activities may be required. 
  • Work is performed in a general office environment using standard office equipment. 

Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 annually depending on experience
