Logistics Specialist
About this role
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a key supporting the daily transportation and logistics activities under minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and aptitude to support the logistics side of operations and the cross-functional skills to successfully collaborate with multiple internal and external business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and trace from suppliers and for customer deliveries.
- Coordinate RMA & Scrap process in collaboration with our customer service team.
- Freight auditing & processing claims through NVision
- Develops policy, guidelines and procedures; trains and implements to them.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all quality regulations and established standard procedures.
- Work with freight carriers and freight forwarders to improve performance Analyze and resolve inventory variances.
- Support customer relocation in collaboration with Customer Solutions and Service Ops Team
- Interact with colleagues in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial to support daily operations.
- Facilitate material transfers by generating reports through ERP system and ensuring proper execution of movement.
- Research and correct issues related to transportation and logistics.
- Acquire and maintain understanding of the technologies utilized in Illumina’s products, parts, and services.
- Provide reports and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Provide cross-functional support as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of Operations and/or Logistics background, preferably in a life sciences manufacturing environment with temperature sensitive products.
- Experience in an FDA/ISO regulated environment with biotech consumables, medical devices and/or the deployment of Quality Systems and process controls.
- Experience working in “best in class” operations organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact well with direct and cross-functional team members.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems that arise in relations to logistics activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent internal and external customer service.
- Ability to influence and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Very detail oriented with strong math and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations.
- Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and ISO and FDA regulated environments.
- Proven self-start, can work independently.
- Experience using an ERP system (SAP preferred).
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- College degree preferred.
