About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator to join a prestigious large-scale mixed-use development project in Oman. The successful candidate will oversee the coordination, execution, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, quality requirements, and construction schedules.
This role requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and extensive experience working on complex mega construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) activities from design through construction and final handover.
Review MEP designs, drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate interfaces between consultants, contractors, suppliers, utility providers, and government authorities.
Monitor project progress, quality, safety, cost, and schedule performance for all MEP works.
Identify project risks, technical issues, and construction conflicts, implementing practical solutions to minimize delays.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.
Review contractor submissions, RFIs, material approvals, method statements, and inspection requests.
Support value engineering initiatives and recommend technical improvements where appropriate.
Manage post-contract matters including technical variations, claims, and coordination issues.
Ensure timely reporting of project progress, risks, and key milestones to project management.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Support project commissioning, testing, handover, and close-out activities.
Ensure compliance with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
Minimum 15 years of total experience within the construction industry.
At least 5 years' experience as an MEP Coordinator on large-scale mega construction projects.
Previous experience working within a PMC or Engineering Consultancy environment is highly preferred.
Strong experience coordinating Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems across multidisciplinary projects.
Proven knowledge of project planning, construction coordination, technical reviews, commissioning, and project delivery.
Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, government authorities, and utility providers.
Excellent understanding of international engineering standards and local construction regulations.
Strong knowledge of project management principles, risk management, quality assurance, and contract administration.
PMP Certification is considered an advantage.
