Maintenance Supervisor

THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

Job Overview: This position supports the Maintenance Manager in executing plant maintenance, reliability, and engineering initiatives. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of maintenance personnel, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production needs. This role focuses on implementing maintenance programs, coordinating work, and driving continuous improvement in equipment reliability and uptime.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional attendance and reliability by reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Promote IKO safety goals and ensure a safe work environment through effective safety, housekeeping, and compliance practices.
  • Supervise daily maintenance activities, assign work, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate maintenance personnel, contractors, and production teams to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs and utilize the CMMS for work orders, scheduling, and maintenance tracking.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs, identify failure trends, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications while ensuring quality and compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including SC OSHA, EPA, SC DHEC, NFPA, NEC, and FM standards.
  • Maintain plant systems and infrastructure, including fire protection and security systems, while keeping accurate maintenance records and supporting environmental compliance.
  • Train, coach, and develop maintenance team members while communicating effectively with operations, engineering, and management to support continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Prior maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach, and direct maintenance teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and accurate instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make sound decisions within the scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments and safely lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, and frequent schedule rotations as needed.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, grasping, and working at heights.
