Position Overview

ICS – Astana is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join our team for the AY 2026/2027. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality lessons based on the US curriculum, while ensuring compliance with Kazakhstan education regulations and labor law. The teacher will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. Safeguarding and student welfare are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Kazakhstan national curriculum and school guidelines.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using school assessment systems.
  • Ensure student safety and welfare at all times, support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Integrate technology and modern teaching practices to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive and safe learning environment.
  • Promote independence, self-control, and positive attitudes in students.
  • Serve as a role model for behaviour and values consistent with the school ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, curriculum support staff, and leadership teams to plan lessons and support student development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Take responsibility for the academic progress of assigned classes.
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning, interventions, and learning strategies.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Year Education or relevant subject (PGCE/QTS preferred)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience (preferably in international curriculum)
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum frameworks
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Passion for student-centered learning and innovation
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Proficiency in English
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with American Curriculum
  • Familiarity with modern teaching tools and educational technology
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
