About this role

STEM majors interested in giving back to the IC community and assisting with recruiting efforts are encouraged to apply for the STEM Student Ambassador 26-27 position. In this position, you will assist in highlighting the STEM programs at Ithaca College to prospective students and families. Primary responsibilities include providing facility tours, answering questions, and conversing with prospective students and families, as well as assisting with Open House and in-person and virtual Admissions event.

What we look for in a STEM Student Ambassador:

  • Flexible, professional, and responsible.
  • Share a strong enthusiasm and passion for STEM at Ithaca College.
  • Value a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Can address questions accurately, honestly, and optimistically.
  • Have public speaking and communication skills.
  • Possess a positive attitude and take initiative.
  • Experience conducting research with a STEM professor is preferred.

Admission Hosts are expected to:

  • Participate in the New Hire training.
  • Lead facility tours as scheduled, typically on Mondays and Fridays, 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
  • Occasionally participate in weekday and weekend Open House and Accepted Student programs (in-person and virtual events). STEM Ambassadors will not always be needed for these events but may be called if staffing is needed.
  • Fill extra tour shifts as needed.
  • Be in good academic standing.
