In this role you will lead, guide and support a team of ER Specialists and ER Advisors and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. You will allocate cases to the team, conduct regular cases reviews and monitor case progress to ensure timely and effective resolution.

This is a 12 month max-term opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of ER Specialists and ER Advisors to deliver trusted and efficient advice and support.
  • Oversee advice provided by ER Specialists and ER Advisors, including governance and due diligence checks to ensure advice is clear, consistent and aligned with IAG policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Build capability and competence across IAG leaders, including through leader capability uplift initiatives, training sessions, people leader guides and other practical guidance.
  • Provide ER advice to P&C, IAG leaders and their teams on complex or escalated matters.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as the ER Lead and key contact point for at least two divisions.
  • Monitor ER Specialist and ER Advisor caseloads and capacity and manage work allocation.
  • Drive exceptional experiences through excellent customer service and adherence to SLAs.
  • Review ER Specialist and ER Advisor case reporting and promote accurate data and reporting.
  • Understand case management trends and identify and deliver proactive initiatives to address.
  • Contribute to risk management including by reviewing the escalation of employee relations matters, escalating matters for further review as appropriate and supporting ER Specialists and ER Advisors to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Oversee the effective use of document management and HRIS systems and support the team with challenges and changes.
  • Contribute to improvements in systems, processes, reporting and insights as required.
  • Support the Employee Relations leadership team with ER Advisory projects and strategic initiatives, including service model embedment, process improvements, reporting uplift and initiatives that strengthen leader capability and business outcomes.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 5-8 years’ experience in an employee relations or employment law role.
  • Strong technical expertise in employee relations including case management, workplace investigations and representation at Fair Work Commission conciliations.
  • People leadership skills (or capability) including experience guiding and supporting team members.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as human resources, employee relations or employment law.
  • Experience contributing to or leading projects, process improvements or strategic initiatives in an employee relations, HR or employment law environment.
