With rapid growth comes opportunity. We are looking for a Front End Developer to join our team onsite in Mississauga, Ontario office! This is a full-time, exempt position.


In this role, you will be responsible for creating polished, intuitive, visually consistent, performant, and accessible user interfaces across Hygiena's software platforms utilizing Angular and Nuxt / Vue.js. You will own the quality of the user-facing experience—collaborating closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to translate Figma designs into robust production interfaces with high visual fidelity, seamless interaction states, and proactive attention to usability.


Responsibilities:

  • Front-End Feature Engineering (35%): Build, maintain, test, and optimize front-end applications and features using Angular (TypeScript) and Nuxt / Vue.js, adhering to modern component-based architecture and engineering best practices.
  • UI Design Translation & Design Systems (25%): Translate Figma UX/UI specifications into responsive, accessible interfaces with exceptional visual fidelity. Build and maintain reusable component libraries and design system standards, maintaining strict attention to typography, spacing, alignment, color, visual hierarchy, and interaction states.
  • API Integration & Asynchronous Handling (15%): Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and back-end services built on .NET / C#, handling complex data validation, loading/error states, and evolving API contracts.
  • Agile & DevOps Workflow (10%): Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives) and manage work items within Azure DevOps.
  • Code Quality & Review (10%): Author clean, modular, maintainable, and well-tested code; lead and participate in peer code reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
  • Performance & Accessibility Optimization (5%): Proactively identify and resolve UI performance bottlenecks, cross-browser compatibility issues, and accessibility gaps (WCAG compliance).
  • Compliance & Safety (As required): Ensure adherence to all company safety standards, organizational policies, training programs, and data security mandates.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Professional Experience: 2–4+ years of professional front-end engineering experience delivering production web applications.
  • Angular & TypeScript: Strong hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript, including modern patterns such as components, services, routing, forms, Signals, and RxJS.
  • Modern Web Standards: Advanced proficiency with HTML5, CSS3 / SCSS, responsive design, and component-based UI architecture.
  • State Management: Practical experience with reactive programming and modern front-end state management patterns (e.g., NgRx, Pinia, or equivalent).
  • API Integration: Proven track record of integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs.
  • Accessibility (a11y): Working knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and focus management).
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Proficiency with Git-based workflows and familiarity with Azure DevOps for work tracking and CI/CD pipelines.

 

Strongly Preferred:

  • Nuxt / Vue.js: Hands-on experience developing with Vue.js and/or Nuxt.
  • Design Tools & Systems: Proven ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate production code while contributing to shared design systems.
  • Automated Testing: Experience writing front-end automated test suites (unit, component, integration, or end-to-end testing frameworks).
  • Portfolio / Work Examples: A portfolio, GitHub repository, live app links, or visual examples showcasing high-quality production UI work and meticulous attention to visual detail.
